Living and Investing in France
More and more people are choosing to live, work and invest in France. It is estimated that there are now more than 300,000 British people living in France. The British are not the only ones who have been enticed by the country, there are also more than 30, 000 Americans in France, making it one of the largest expatriate American community than in any other country. A whole host of people of other nationalities have also chosen to leave their country of origin behind and start a new life in France.
Surveys of those that have made the move, show that almost no one regrets the move to France, and many in fact only regretted that they had not made the move sooner!
So what is so enticing about France? There is of course the famous French gastronomy and wine, and with recent research showing that those who drink a moderate amount of red wine each day are healthier and live longer what better excuse is there to move to a wine loving country ! Wine enthusiasts need no longer feel guilty about moving to France and indulging their passion, it seems it is good for their health!
Whilst on the subject of health, you need not worry about the standard of medical care if you decide to live in France. According to the World Health Association, the French medical system is the best in the whole world.
If you are making the move to France with a four legged friend, you need have no worries, France is also one of the most pet friendly cultures in the whole world. In fact for dogs, it is heaven. French restaurants will quite happily prepare a place setting for your dog to sit and eat next to you, and hotels will always include tariffs for dogs in their price list.
The diverse geographical landscape of the country means that you will be spoilt for choice as to where you will live. You can choose from a fisherman’s cottage in Brittany, a chateau in the valley of the , a chateau in the valley of the Loire, the splendor and chic of , the splendor and chic of Paris or or Cannes, or the mystery of the rugged landscape of the , or the mystery of the rugged landscape of the Auvergne..So, are there any down sides to living in France? Some people complain about the frustrating bureaucracy, and administration. However if you are well prepared before you leave, have sought specialist advice, and have all the required documents a move to France will be relatively painless for you. You may even regret like many others who have made France their home, that you did not make the move sooner !
